As part of Toronto’s expanding transit infrastructure, this project required a specialized glazing solution that could combine transparency, accessibility, and safety within a high-traffic urban environment. The LITEFLAM XT 60 exterior walkable skylight was engineered to provide 60-minute fire resistance, pedestrian loading capacity, and impact protection, delivering a durable and high-performance solution for the Finch West LRT Station.

LITEFLAM XT 60 Exterior Walkable Fire-Rated Skylight with Impact Resistance

The LITEFLAM XT 60 system was engineered to meet the multi-criteria demands of this transit application.
Beyond the 60-minute fire rating and pedestrian load requirements, the assembly was designed to incorporate impact resistance to address the unique risk of vehicle strike — ensuring the skylight would not experience catastrophic failure under impact forces.
